Nafiseh Laleh

Nafiseh Laleh is an Iranian artist who has completed her Ph.D in Cinema at Istanbul University. As a writer, director, and producer, she has staged several plays in Iran for more than 13 years. She has written plays and cultural-artistic programs for the “Iranian National Radio” for three years. Additionally, she translated the play Esirler by Sabahattin Ali and has published a novel named The Smile Number 29 as well as a documentary book named From Where We Are. She also has written three feature films’ scripts “Karla”, “Stain of the Soul” and “I Am Where the Butterflies Sleep” which have been filmed in Türkiye during 2019-2024. She has worked as a scriptwriter, translator, and assistant director in documentaries and feature films such as Stain of the Soul, Memories from the Occupation of Tabriz, Shahbaz, Drunken with Love, Pure White, Journey to the End of the Night and Beautiful Jinne and… Out of the Blue, is her first feature film experience as a producer which has received the SE-YAP award from the 42nd Meeting on the Bridge program of the Istanbul Film Festival.
